It’s hard to believe Derby was the scene of the massive Briseis Tin Mine, once one of the richest tin mines in the world, employing hundreds of men and producing millions of pounds of tin. In the early 1900s this tiny village was a thriving town, with three hotels, boarding houses, a doctors residence, hospital, three churches, three grocers, two bakers, two butchers, a jeweller, draper, boot-maker, cordial factory and numerous other businesses; not to mention its own school! Life is a little quieter and a little slower now, but Derby maintains its historic look and feel. And something new is stirring in this quirky little town… and it’s awesome… and it’s huge…. and it’s the most fun you can have on two wheels! Come ride Blue Derby!
